In Conclusion

Gorgeous Sedona!

Thanks for reading my blog!

Julie showed classic signs of trauma from her disassociated state to her low self-esteem. I discussed or gave examples of the following: the purpose of SE, orientation, tracking, neurogenic tremors, the Polyvagal Theory, the freeze state's symptoms, self-protective responses, boundary work, Gestalt exercises, coupling dynamics, and types of trauma inducing events. Also, I explained in detail her first session, which demonstrated coupling dynamics through the anger, fear and saddness complex that arose, as well as, tools to help the uncoupling process of a system that is overstimulated in sympathetic dominance. I hope you gained additional insight into the therapeutic technique of Somatic Experiencing for trauma resolution as explored through Julie’s experiences.

I wish everyone a successful semester!
